This year started out strong taking First Place at NOC Pre-Conference tournament at Bunker Hill. The Lady Mustangs scored a record breaking 325 defeating Hudson. At the Ashland Tournament we placed 3rd with a score of 334. In the Northeast Conference the Lady Mustangs placed second to Hudson BUT five of the Lady Golfers qualified for the NOC All-Conference Honor Roll.
The idea of us going to STATES was always there. In October the team was ready by placing third at Sectionals scoring a 348. The Northwest District Tournament was moved to Eagle Creek, Norwalk and the girls were prepared. The team scored 344 taking FIRST PLACE at the District Tournament. We were going to STATES! The Lady Mustangs placed 10th/12 teams scoring 351/334.
Many Thanks to Mia Jakubecz for serving as the Girls Golf Booster Representative. Thank you to all the parents who have supported the team through the fund raiser’s and teams snack donations. Special thank you to the Keaton family for their help with the Mustang golf shirts. A special thank you goes to Gayle Cobb for her assistance with the Junior Varsity team at the Highland Invitational Tournament.
Thank you to Valleaire Golf Course and course Manager Wendy Mayer and her staff for providing tee times, support, and encouragement. Thank you to Coach Kathy Fitzgerald whose attention to the finer details of the teams program and her expertise in developing the junior varsity team.
